This is the area I'll be staying in. I know I can walk up to Ledseplein and go to Rookie's or something, but I was wondering if there were any other nice coffeeshops around Vondelpark/Museumplein areas that maybe aren't on the map? Wish the ACD map went a bit lower, but I understand why the map is the way it is, there being a large concentration of coffeeshops in the center of town. Any suggestions would be welcomed. :) Thx

Thanks for the responses so far. I'll definitely have to check out Katsu and I'm sure I'll go to Noon as well. But I think Tweedy is going to be my local spot...looks to be only a few minute walk from where I'm at. :) Keep em comin if you got any more...

A couple of other shops near the Vondelpark are Tuinje, Kasmir Lounge, Blue Lagoon, Jan Piet, 96 and Noon. Mellow Yellow and Little are also pretty close. There is no way that Katsu is close to Vondelpark though. Katsu is in de pijp, close to Sarphatipark and Albert Cuyp markt. Peace.

Thank you puffin13. :) muzikman I'm staying at Hotel Piet Hein unless my friend down in Amsterdam gets it together and gets an apartment. Even then I might just stay in the hotel. It'll be nice to have my own bed.

From your hotel I would think it would take 10-15 minute walk to Katsu (a little longer than the walk to Leidseplein probably - but a walk well worth it! Even if you were staying by Dam Square then I would say the walk is worth it, if anything to try the Crystal Clear...but it's a top shop all around.

I'll definitely be visting Katsu, especially considering the 100% feedback it has. :) I might walk up there or I could easily take the tram to Sarphatipark and walk from there. I'm glad I picked the hotel I did...out of the city center (so perhaps a bit calmer) but still completely accessible from almost anywhere I'm interested in going. There's even a night bus stop near my hotel that I can catch from the center of town, If I've had a late night...:P
